Windows 7 Security Update Kills Computers

Windows 7 patch blunder

One effect could be that Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7 would display a message claiming its license was invalid, Microsoft said. That would kill protection offered by Kaspersky, making the situation more serious than just a comical screw-up.
And Microsoft will now have to work on a fresh patch for the relevant flaw, which could still be exploited by hackers.
Microsoft said the problem lay in how the update interacted with third-party gear.
“We’ve determined that the update, when paired with certain third-party software, can cause system errors. As a precaution, we stopped pushing 2823324 as an update when we began investigating the error reports and have since removed it from the download centre,” the Microsoft Security Response Center wrote in a blog post.
“Contrary to some reports, the system errors do not result in any data loss nor affect all Windows customers.”
Other fixes from this week’s Patch Tuesday, including a critical one affecting all supported versions of Internet Explorer, are still available and users have been advised to download them.

Difference between Java and JavaScript

Java is an object oriented programming language whereas JavaScript is more of a scripting language.

JavaScript is used to make the web pages more interactive. However, Java can be used not only to make interactive web pages but can also be used to create server side applications and standalone programming.

Java uses the concept of classes and objects that makes reuse of the code easier but there is no such thing in JavaScript.

Java exhibits the properties like inheritance, data encapsulation and polymorphism whereas JavaScript does not.

Java vs JavaScript

Java and JavaScript are programming languages. Java is an object oriented programming language whereas JavaScript is more of a scripting language. Both can be used to make web pages more interactive. However, Java is also used to develop server side applications and standalone programming.
Java
Java is an object oriented programming language. In early 1990s, Sun Microsystems developed the Java language. Initially, it was designed to make small programs for the web browser called applets. But later on, Java was used to create applications based on e-commerce.
There are five main features of Java language:
• Provides more flexibility to develop software applications because of object oriented approach.
• Easy to use as it combines the best properties of other programming languages.
• Allows code written in Java to run on different platforms or Java code is independent of platform.
• The code from the remote source can be executed securely.
• Built-in support for computer networks.
Java also supports automated memory management model that allows developers to get rid of the time consuming method called manual memory management. Programmers can easily do this by implementing automatic garbage collection. But according to some people, Java is slow as well as consumes more memory than other programming languages such as C++.

JavaScript
JavaScript is also a programming language which is used to make web pages more dynamic as well as interactive. Constant downloads from the server are not required in case of JavaScript as it runs on the user’s computer. JavaScript is different from the Java programming language.
Most modern day web browsers have built-in JavaScript. However, JavaScript based web pages can run only if JavaScript is enabled on the web browser and the browser supports it. JavaScript is enabled in most browsers by default.
No special program is required in order to write code in JavaScript as it is an interpreted language. You can use any text editor such as Notepad in order to write JavaScript code. You can also use other text editor that colorizes the different codes making it easier to detect any error.
JavaScript is different from HTML because JavaScript is used to create more dynamic web pages while HTML is a markup language that is used to create static content on the web page.
You can insert the JavaScript code in a HTML file by using the <script> tag. But if you want to use the script in different pages of the website then you can save the scripts in different files with .js extension.

difference between get and post?

A GET request is a request to get a resource from the server. Choosing GET as the "method" will append all of the data to the URL and it will show up in the URL bar of your browser. The amount of information you can send back using a GET is restricted as URLs can only be 1024 characters.

A POST request is a request to post (to send) form data to a resource on the server.

A POST on the other hand will (typically) send the information through a socket back to the webserver and it won't show up in the URL bar. You can send much more information to the server this way - and it's not restricted to textual data either. It is possible to send files and even binary data such as serialized Java objects!

The GET method appends name/value pairs to the URL. Unfortunately, the length of a URL is limited, so this method only works if there are only a few parameters. The URL could be truncated if the form uses a large number of parameters, or if the parameters contain large amounts of data. Also, parameters passed on the URL are visible in the address field of the browser not the best place for a password to be displayed.

The POST method packages the name/value pairs inside the body of the HTTP request, which makes for a cleaner URL and imposes no size limitations on the forms output. It is also more secure.

what is difference between session and cookies

1. The main difference between cookies and sessions is that cookies are stored in the user's browser, and sessions are not.

2.A cookie can keep information in the user's browser until deleted. But Session work instead like a token allowing access and passing information while the user has their browser open.

3.The difference between sessions and cookies is that a session can hold multiple variables, and you don’t have to set cookies for every variable. By default, the session data is stored in a cookie with an expiry date of zero, which means that the session only remains active as long as the browser. When you close the browser, all the stored information is lost. You can modify this behavior by changing the “session.cookie_lifetime” setting in “php.ini” from zero to whatever you want the cookie lifetime to be.

how to Boost Brainpower

Have you ever noticed that some people are able to effortlessly remember even the most mundane details, and quickly comprehend new things, and wished that you too could be like that?  Well, you can.  To unlock the full potential of your brain, you need to keep it active and acute.  Wasting away on your couch watching mindless television shows is not going to help.  Besides getting out flashcards, what can you do to help remember things better and learn new things more quickly?  Check out these tips:
  1. Exercise & get your body moving – exercising doesn’t just exercise the body, it also helps to exercise your brain.  Obesity and the myriad of diseases that eventually set in as a result of being overweight can cause serious harm to the brain.  Furthermore, without regular exercise plaque starts to build up in your arteries and your blood vessels begin to lose the ability to effectively pump blood.  Plaque buildup leads to heart attacks, but it also reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients that your blood carries to your brain.  When the nutrients don’t make it there, the brain’s ability to function is compromised.  To prevent this from happening, make sure you get moving every day, even if its just a brisk walk, it’ll help you maintain and increase your mental accuity. Brisk walking , swimming and dancing are all excellent activities.
  2. Eliminate stressors and seek help for depression (if you have it). Anything that causes you major stress, like anger or anxiety, will in time begin to eat away at the parts of your brain that are responsible for memory.  Amongst the most brain-damaging stressors is depression, which is actually often misdiagnosed a a memory problem since one of its primary symptoms is the inability to concentrate.  If you can’t concentrate, then you might feel like you are constantly forgetting things. Depression increases the levels of cortisol in your bloodstream, which elevates the cortisol levels in the brain.  Doctors have found that increased cortisol diminishes certain areas of the brain, especially the hippocampus, which is where short-term memories are stored.  Prolonged depression can thus destroy your brain’s ability to remember anything new.  Seek professional help to combat your depression – your brain will thank you.
  3. Get a good night’s sleep and take naps. Getting a consistent 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night will increase your memory. During sleep, the brain firms up memories of recently acquired information and getting enough sleep will help you get through the full spectrum of nocturnal cycles that are essential to optimal brain and body functioning during the waking hours.  Taking a nap throughout the day, especially after learning something new, can also help you to retain those memories as well as recharge your brain and keep it sharper longer.
  4. Write it down. If there’s something you want to remember, writing it down can help.  Writing it down creates oxygenated blood flow to areas of your brain that a responsible for your memories and literally exercises those parts of it.  You can start a journal, write yourself e-mails, or even start keeping a blog – all of these activities will help to improve your capacity to remember and memorize information.
  5. Listen to music. Research shows that certain types of music are very helpful in recalling memories.  Information that is learned while listening to a particular song or collection can often be recalled by thinking of the song or “playing” it mentally.  Songs and music can serve as cues for pulling up particular memories.
  6. Feed your brain. 50 to 60 percent of the brain’s overall weight is pure fat, which is  used to insulate its billions of nerve cells.  The better insulated a cell is, the faster it can send messages and the quicker you will be thinking.  This is precisely why parents are advised to feed their young children whole milk and to restrict dieting – their brains’ need fat to grow and work properly.  Skimping on fats can be devastating even to the adult brain.  Thus, eating foods that contain a healthy mix of fats is vital for long-term memory.  Some excellent food choices include fish (especially anchovies, mackerel and wild salmon) and dark leafy green vegetables.  Deep-fried foods obviously contain fat, but their lack of nutritional value is going to help your brain or your body, so think healthy foods and fats.
  7. Visual concepts. In order to remember things, many people need to visualize the information they are studying.  Pay attention to photographers, charts and other graphics that might appear in your textbook, or if you’re not studying a book, try to pull up a mental image of what it is you are trying to remember.  It might also help to draw your own charts or figures, or utilize colors and highlighters to group related ideas in your notes.
  8. Teach someone else. Reading material out loud has been shown to significantly improve memory of the material.  Expanding further upon this idea is the fact that psychologists and educators have found that by having students teach new concepts to others, it heps to enhance understanding and recall.  Teach new concepts and information to a friend or study partner, and you’ll find you remember the information a lot better.
  9. Do crossword puzzles, read, or play cards. Studies have shown that doing either of these activities on a daily basis not only keep your brain active, but also help to delay memory loss, especially in those who develop dementia.  So pick up the daily newspaper and work on that crossword puzzle, read a book, or enjoy a game of solitaire.
  10. Eat breakfast and make sure it includes an egg. Accrording to Larry McCleary, M.D., author of  The Brain Trust Program, an egg is the ideal breakfast.  Eggs contain B vitamins, which help nerve cells to burn glucose, antioxidants that protect neurons against damage, and omega-3 fatty acids that keep nerve cells firing at optimal speed.  Other foods to add to your breakfast include fruits, veggies and lean proteins.  Avoid trans fats and high fructose corn syrup.  Trans fats diminish the brain cells’ ability to communicate with eachother, and HFCS can actually shrink the brain by damaging cells.  Having a healthy breakfast in the morning has been shown to improve performance throughout the day.

Stack In Data Structure with algoritham

Stack is one of the Linear data structure (Non-primitive data structure).  In stack, Insert Operation & delete Operation are performed at one end i.e. on the top of the stack.
Stack is the linear data structure having collection of elements which follows LIFO (Last In First Out) pattern i.e. element which comes last is served first.
One of the best applications where stack can be viewed is, Shipment in Cargo. For the shipment of goods, they have to be loaded into a cargo. While for unloading they are unloaded  in opposite sequence of  loading. That is, the last goods loaded should be unloaded first.
In stack Insert operation is known as PUSH and deletion is known as POP and the position of the stack where these operations are performed is known as TOP of the stack.
Operations on STACK :
Basic operations required to manipulate a stack are:
PUSH : To insert an item into the stack
POP : To remove an item from a stack.
PEEP : To find ith element from stack.
CHANGE : To change ith element from stack.
Initially top of the stack is zero as there is no element in stack, top is incremented by one as element is added to stack i.e. PUSH Operation and top is decremented by one when element is deleted from stack i.e. POP operation.
Application of Stack :
1. Recursion
2. Polish expressions and their compilation
3. Stack machines
Let us see Pseudo code or Algorithm of each stack operation.
