Initial Development - In 1994, Microsoft, Compaq, Intel, DEC, IBM, NEC and Nortel, formed a group and started development of Universal Serial Bus.
Universal Serial Bus devices can be used across multiple platforms including Windows, Mac and Linux. Connecting a Universal Serial Bus device to a computer is simple - just insert the Universal Serial Bus connector into your system and it will automatically detect it and starts working.
The most widely and commonly used USB device is Universal Serial Bus Drive. Unlike most removable drives, it does not require rebooting after it gets attached.
