Nokia Lumia 525 specifications price

The Nokia Lumia 520 was launched in February this year and is one of the reasons Windows Phone marks a growth in its market share in Europe.

Lenovo Vibe Z revealed

Lenovo has unveiled the Vibe Z (K910), the company’s latest flagship smartphone in China. The phone has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS  display at 400 PPI, larger than the Vibe X that was unveiled last month at IFA. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, BSI sensor and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

It is just 6.9mm thick. It has a metal body and sports a similar design as the Vibe X. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and also has a memory card slot. The battery capacity  is not available yet.

HTC Desire 500 review

Desire has long been the signature of the company's tier-2 lineup. With past offerings varying from capable midrangers all the way down to entry level, going blindly for a smartphone bearing the Desire moniker has been largely a hit-or-miss affair when it comes to purchasing.

The Desire 500 is HTC's latest attempt to ride the middle road between features and price, and it is the modern day equivalent of the HTC Desire X released late last year. The other way to look at it is as the more affordable alternative of the Desire 600 dual SIM, which we reviewed a while ago. That said, the one we're dealing with is the single-SIM flavor of the HTC Desire 500, but there is a dial SIM variant, too.

The Desire 500 may not be a sports car, but the quad-core 1.2GHz processor would mean it should be a nice cruiser - and most people are after that in a midranger. The display resolution is not up there with the best on the positive side, the graphical sub-system doesn't have to draw as many pixels on the screen so this may even help with performance. Also impressive on paper are the camera capabilities, which despite not being able to handle 1080p, include 720p and slow-motion videos. As an added bonus the front-facing camera shoots in 720p as well.

Well, we are never satisfied with judging phones by their specs sheets only so we'll get right into testing whether the Desire 500 is worth its salt. Up next we have a through look at the hardware and build quality.

Nokia Lumia 929 SPECIFICATIONS & PRICE

Nokia is planning to announce the Lumia 929 for Verizon later this month. Expected to go on sale in November, this handset is similar to the Lumia 1520 for AT&T that was leaked earlier but with a few key differences.

Like the Lumia 1520, the Lumia 929 is said to have a 1080p resolution display and a 20 megapixel PureView camera with oversampling functionality. The difference here is that while the 1520 is said to have a massive 6-inch display, the 929 will have a comparatively smaller 5-inch display.

The device will be sold in black and white and possibly in a red color as well. The off-contract price is said to be $500, much less than the $599 price for the Lumia 1520.

Meanwhile, evleaks has also revealed the name of the upcoming budget Windows Phone 8 device, known previously as 'Glee'. Called the Lumia 525, this device will be one of the six new phones that Nokia will be announcing at their October 22 Abu Dhabi event.

An alleged Android 4.4 KitKat log file has been leaked, apparently revealing specifications of the rumoured Nexus 4 successor, thought to be called the Nexus 5.

Myce.com has spotted a log file reportedly running on the Nexus 5. The log file reveals the device running 'Key Lime Pie' with build number KRS74H. The log file is 10MB in size and includes over 1,33,000 lines, claims the site.

The site further mentions that the log is running on a Hammerhead device, which appears to be a codename for Nexus 5 formerly dubbed the LG D820.

The leaked log file reveals some of the specifications which include a 5-inch display (precisely 4.97-inch) with full-HD resolution and boasting a pixel density of 442ppi. The device is seen powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. For camera, the device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with no details about optical image stabilisation (OIS) while there is a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Further, the alleged log file reveals that the rumoured Nexus 5 supports Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, and GPS connectivity. Moreover, the log file shows the device supporting North America LTE bands. The alleged Nexus 5 will also support wireless charging, suggests the leaked log files.

Over the last month, we have seen several leaks turn up showing the alleged Nexus 4 successor's design and specifications.

Earlier, Nestle revealed the first news about the launch of Android 4.4 KitKat on Facebook, claiming an October release date. While this was not an official confirmation from Google about Android 4.4 KitKat's release, as a partner, Nestle's German Facebook handle was kind enough to confirm that it is coming next month.

Prior to this, the alleged Nexus 4 successor was spotted in live images and a video. The leaked images showed a pre-production unit of the next Nexus smartphone that revealed the front and rear panel.

It is rumoured that the next Nexus smartphone would run Android 4.4 KitKat, and that the smartphone would be the platform lead device for the new platform, due to be launched at the same event.
